BERLIN, Connecticut – April 1, 2008 –
During April and May, The Connecticut Light and Power Company (CL&P) and Yankee Gas Services Company (Yankee Gas) are sponsoring Utility Days at community events throughout the state. Customers are invited to join CL&P and Yankee Gas at an upcoming Utility Day and learn ways to reduce their energy bill.
Utility Days, which are being held in partnership with Connecticut Statewide Legal Services, provide financially challenged customers with an opportunity to sign-up for CL&P and Yankee Gas energy assistance programs and services. Customers are asked to bring copies of their latest utility bills. The events also help bring energy awareness to CL&P and Yankee Gas customers through informational and educational displays, giveaways and materials. Additionally, customers will have the opportunity to find out if they are eligible to participate in the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund's (CEEF) free weatherization program. Called WRAP, this in-home program helps customers save energy by repairing leaks and drafts, providing energy-efficient lighting and other services that can help reduce energy costs.
