News Release
Yankee Gas to Highlight Natural Gas Cooling, Dehumidfication and Distributed Generation Technologies at CBIA Expo
BERLIN, CONN., April 23, 2004 – Yankee Gas representatives will be showcasing natural gas cooling, desiccant dehumidification and distributed generation (DG) technologies at the CBIA Environmental Health and Safety Conference and Expo on April 27-28. The Expo, sponsored by the Connecticut Business and Industry Association, will be held at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington. Expo hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 27 and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 28.

Natural gas is a versatile fuel used to power space conditioning systems, manufacturing processes and even generate electricity. Natural gas-fired absorption and engine-driven cooling are reliable, energy-efficient options that reduce summer electric load to save on demand charges. Desiccant dehumidification systems that remove humidity and moisture from the air can also be paired with cooling technologies for comfort, safety and efficiency. Distributed generation (DG) is a form of cogeneration using small-scale on-site power generation. For sites with high electric and hot water demand, DG is a cost-effective and environmentally-friendly method of power generation.

Yankee Gas will have energy experts at its booth who can provide information about the value of natural gas and gas technologies and financing options that will help you get that new equipment installed in time for the upcoming cooling season.
