Energy Assistance Forum Coming to Cromwell
To Be Held October 17 at Crowne Plaza
BERLIN, Connecticut, October 3, 2006
– Local social service providers from hospitals, senior centers, town governments, local assistance programs and religious organizations are invited to attend the 2006 Social Agency Forum on Energy, Tuesday, October 17, beginning at 8 a.m., at the Crowne Plaza, 100 Berlin Road in Cromwell.
Sponsored by The Connecticut Light and Power Company (CL&P) and Yankee Gas Services Company, the forum will provide social service agencies, community-based organizations and public officials with updated information about utility payment plans, services and assistance, including the CL&P and Yankee Gas Matching Payment Programs, credit practices, energy assistance, educational programs, and weatherization programs. Representatives from social service agencies can register free of charge by calling (860) 665-3536 in the Hartford and Meriden calling areas, or (800) 286-5000, ext. 701-3536, in all other areas.
The Social Agency Forum offers utility companies and social services staff an opportunity to strengthen and build relationships to better serve and represent low-and fixed income utility customers.
In addition to CL&P and Yankee Gas, representatives from the Broad Park Development Corporation, CAFCA, Capitol Workforce Partners, City of Hartford Department of Public Health, Connecticut Department of Social Services, Connecticut Association for Human Services, Connecticut Legal Services, Connecticut Department of Public Utility Control - Consumer Education Unit, Infoline, Latino and Puerto Rican Affairs Commission, National Executive Services Corps, Operation Fuel, University of Connecticut Cooperative Extension System and the Village for Families and Children, Inc. are scheduled to be in attendance.
