BERLIN, CONN., May 16, 2005 (NYSE: NU) – Yankee Gas representatives will be showcasing natural gas air conditioning, distributed generation (DG) and desiccant dehumidification technologies at the Connecticut Association of Not-for-Profit Providers for the Aging (CANPFA) Expo on Friday, May 20, at the Radisson Hotel in Cromwell. Expo hours are 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Natural gas is a versatile fuel that can be used to power a variety of equipment in health care settings. Air conditioning and desiccant cooling systems are used to regulate temperature and reduce the humidity that can cause mold and mildew and poor indoor air quality. Distributed generation is a form of cogeneration using small-scale on-site power generation. For sites with high electric and hot water demand, DG is a cost-effective and environmentally-friendly method of power generation.

Yankee Gas will have energy experts at the trade show who can provide information on energy equipment for assisted living communities and financing options that make it easy to install new equipment, allowing health care providers to better serve their clients.

Yankee Gas Services Company (Yankee Gas) is Connecticut’s largest natural gas distribution company, delivering safe, reliable natural gas service to approximately 194,000 customers in 71 cities and towns.
