Office:(860) 665-6212
BERLIN, Conn., March 14, 2003 (NYSE: NU) -- Yankee Gas Services Company has presented Mark Lauretti, Mayor of Shelton, with a $2,500 donation toward the expansion of the White Hills Fire Department. The check was presented at the city's Board of Alderman meeting on Thursday, March 13.

Yankee Gas serves many customers in Shelton and has served the community for many years. "Delivering safe, reliable natural gas to the community is a top priority for Yankee Gas. We share the fire department's commitment to safety and are pleased to support Shelton's Fire Department on this project," said Kevin Dupre, Yankee’s Area Operations manager for the Shelton area.

The $2,500 donation will be used to help pay for an addition to the White Hills Fire House, located at 2 School Street. A 1,400-square foot bay for a new fire truck is being added to the building, along with a new workshop and maintenance area to service the new truck. "This is a nice gesture on the part of Yankee Gas," said Mayor Lauretti. "The town is very appreciative of the donation and of Yankee's commitment to our community."
