Northeast Utilities Names New Vice President of Engineering in Massachusetts

Springfield, Mass. (March 24, 2014) – Northeast Utilities has named electric utility veteran, Paul Renaud, as Vice President of Engineering for its Massachusetts subsidiaries Western Mass Electric and NSTAR Electric Company. In his new position, Renaud will lead the strategic and tactical direction of the companies’ electric system engineering, including oversight of new transmission, substation and system protection projects.

Prior to joining NU, Renaud most recently served as Director of Engineering and System Planning at Vermont Electric Power Company, where he provided strategic and day-to-day direction on all engineering and planning activities related to Vermont's high-voltage transmission system.

Renaud is a 25-year electric industry veteran, with wide-ranging technical and regulatory experience in energy transmission and distribution. He has developed and implemented successful transmission system and organization plans across the northeast.

Renaud holds a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems from Northeastern University and a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Bridgeport. He will report directly to WMECo and NSTAR Electric President Craig Hallstrom.
