WMECo Creates a New Business Center
Customizing Services for Commercial Customers


Springfield, Mass. (April 29, 2013) – WMECo is reinforcing its commitment to providing excellent customer service—creating a customized Business Center responding to the highly specialized needs of commercial customers.

“The energy needed to power a business can be a hundred times the amount it takes to power a home, so the needs of our business customers truly are different than the needs of our residential customers,” said Penni Conner, Senior Vice President and Chief Customer Officer of Northeast Utilities, parent company of WMECo. “We’re excited about this new service delivery approach and the opportunity for our team to really make a difference for all of our business customers.”

Dedicated to meeting the needs of business customers WMECo’s new Business Center will be located at the company’s call center, staffed by a team of highly-trained customer service representatives and account executives.

WMECo’s Business Center will focus on small and medium-sized business customers comprising the vast majority of the company’s commercial accounts. The Business Center is designed to be a valuable resource helping customers manage costs, use energy more efficiently and streamline its business relationship with WMECo. Customers will receive customized service, including helpful and timely information on power quality and reliability, energy efficiency programs and services, competitive energy supplier offerings, planned and unplanned service interruptions and more. The Business Center will complement and support WMECo’s Strategic and National Accounts team serving the companies’ largest business customers.
