Springfield, Mass. (June 10, 2014) – Small downtown businesses, the heart and soul of downtown Springfield, will soon be benefiting from a popular WMECo energy efficiency program. The company’s Main Street Energy Efficiency Program has already helped more than 100 small businesses in Easthampton, West Springfield and Greenfield at no cost to the business owners. Now the program is coming to Springfield.

“We have a long-standing partnership with the City of Springfield, helping the city and its residents save money through innovative energy efficiency programs” said TilakSubrahmanian, Vice President of Energy Efficiency at Northeast Utilities, WMECo’s parent company. “We’re proud of what our Main Street program is accomplishing in cities and towns across Western Mass. and are confident Springfield small business owners will enjoy significant savings as well.”

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno stated, “Once again Western Massachusetts Electric Company and the City of Springfield get to team up for a win-win energy efficiency program.
