MANCHESTER, N.H., September 2, 2010 — Public Service of New Hampshire is closely monitoring weather forecasts and is prepared for the possibility of damage associated with Hurricane Earl. While it is still early, current weather reports forecast inclement weather along the Seacoast region late on Friday and into Saturday morning.

In order to respond quickly to any weather-related problems, PSNH has prepared its employees and resources for power outage restoration storm activities. This includes checking inventory levels, fueling vehicles, and testing emergency equipment at work centers around the state. Every PSNH employee has a storm assignment and is trained to respond if an emergency restoration is underway.

If customers do lose power, they are asked to report this situation immediately to PSNH at 1-800-662-7764. In addition, stay away from downed trees or poles, and treat all lines as if they were live.

Customer should always be prepared for the possibility of power outages and have on hand emergency supplies, such as flashlights for every family member and fresh batteries. More information on power outages and storm restoration is available on the company's website at www.psnh.com/stormsafety.

PSNH will continue to be in regular communication with State and municipal officials to ensure a coordinated response to any emergency event. For the most recent information, please follow @psnh on Twitter: twitter.com/psnh.

PSNH is New Hampshire's largest electric utility, generating and distributing clean electricity for more than 490,000 homes and businesses in an environmentally friendly manner.
