Portsmouth, NH June 16, 2010*****Maintenance will be performed this weekend on the transmission power lines that cross the Piscataqua River between Portsmouth, New Hampshire and Eliot, Maine. The work will be conducted from helicopters that will hover near the lines, which are within sight of motorists on the nearby I-95 bridge. The “curiosity factor” could result in traffic slow downs, and travelers are urged to be vigilant and cautious as they cross the bridge.

The helicopter work is scheduled to take place throughout most of the day Saturday, June 19, weather permitting. The rain date is Sunday, June 20. Local, state and federal officials in New Hampshire and Maine have been notified.
