New London, N.H. June 7, 2010****Work associated with a new electrical substation in New London will require a series of temporary, planned, power outages in the town this week and next. PSNH will disconnect service to a portion of the town’s homes and businesses for about four hours on three separate days in order to finalize work at the new substation on Pleasant Street.

“We appreciate our customers’ patience and understanding,” said Paul Bandanza, Field Supervisor-Lines, at PSNH’s Newport Area Work Center. “The switch to the new substation will help assure service reliability for the area and also result in reduced maintenance costs.”

Town officials have been informed of the planned outages, and all customers directly affected have been notified by mail. Questions may be directed to PSNH at 1-800-662-7764.
