Manchester, NH, September 12, 2008****Public Service of New Hampshire (PSNH) is accepting applications for its Environmental Community Grant Program. Through this twice-yearly program New Hampshire organizations actively fostering environmental awareness, education, and habitat improvement are eligible to receive cash grants ranging from $250 - $1,000.
Eligible projects include those that protect or preserve the environment, provide education on environmental issues of local interest, or reclaim and rehabilitate damaged natural environments through organized cleanup efforts.
Environmental project leaders throughout PSNH’s service territory are encouraged to apply. Applications must be received by October 15, 2008 and may be submitted online via www.psnh.com.
PSNH environmental community grants were awarded earlier this year to the Friends of Goffstown Rail Trail for the construction of a timber bridge to be used by hikers and bikers, to the Town of Carroll for the purchase of supplies to be used for a community pride clean-up day, and to the Town of Sharon Conservation Commission for the creation of signs used for trail marking, as well as for paint to blaze trails.
