MANCHESTER, N.H. - Feb. 28, 2010 – About 78 percent of PSNH customers affected by the wind storm have been restored since customer outages peaked Friday evening at 269,000. As of 9:00 p.m., PSNH reports that about 59,000 customers remain without power.

Estimated Power Restoration Dates

PSNH has posted a report (by town) that provides an estimate for when the company expects to have power restored to 99 percent of customers in each community affected by the recent wind storm.

These projections are based on PSNH’s current staffing levels, which include about 600 line and tree-trimming crews working to restore power, as well as the best current information available in the field.

Keeping safety as a top priority, crews will be working hard to improve the current estimates and restore service as quickly as possible to all customers impacted by the storm. PSNH will update this report periodically as repairs are completed and more information becomes available. To view PSNH’s “99 Percent Restoration Report,” please visit: http://bit.ly/NHwind2010.

As of 5:00 p.m. today, the towns with the largest number of PSNH customers without power include Bedford, Derry, Dover, Hookset, Londonderry, and Manchester.

Special Report: How Was this Storm Different?

PSNH has developed a brief report that discusses how the February 2010 wind storm compares to other storms that have impacted New Hampshire in recent history, including the December 2008 ice storm and the April 2007 “tax day” wind storm. The report includes a map of top wind gusts recorded in New Hampshire during the 2010 wind storm. Click here to view the report.
