Tree Trimming Under Way in East Hartford
$680,000 project will help improve CL&P system reliability



BERLIN, Conn. – July 11, 2012Trees are the number one cause of power outages and Connecticut Light & Power (CL&P) is reminding area residents that tree trimming around power lines is under way in East Hartford. The $680,000 project is expected to be completed by the end of the 2012.

A complete list of streets where trimming is being done can be found by visiting www.clpbringspower.com and clicking on the “Vegetation Management” link. Trimming is vital to reducing the number of tree-related power outages and improving service reliability for customers of CL&P.

Crews from Asplundh Tree Expert Company are working under the guidance of CL&P Vegetation Management Program Coordinator Barry Croke.
